Only an instant, like opening a door into some other place, and she'd seen something she had never imagined. Something very old and feral and ugly. The eyes not wide, but focused on something she could not see. The pallor of his face not that of shock but of rage. His hands balled briefly into fists of quivering stone. And then his face had changed again. There had been comprehension to replace the blind, killing rage, and what she had seen next was the most dangerous sight she ever beheld, though she knew not why. Then the door closed. His eyes shut, but when he opened them, his face was unnaturally serene. The complete sequence had not taken four seconds, she realized. He'd passed from horror to rage to understanding - then to concealment, but what had come in between comprehension and disguise was the most frightening thing of all. What had she seen in the face of this man? It took her a moment to answer her question. Death was what she'd seen. Controlled. Planned. Disciplined. But it was still Death, living in the mind of a man.

ON the shelves of the British Museum in the city of London there is a book in the Russian language, by Sergius A. Nilus, called the Protocols of the Wise Men of Zion. It contains twenty-four documents which purport to reveal the inner workings of a plot by certain international Jewish leaders to enslave the world through a dictatorship based upon the power of gold.

Mr. Henry Ford, in an interview published in the New York WORLD, February 17th, 1921, put the case tersely and convincingly thus:

"The only statement I care to make about the PROTOCOLS is that they fit in with what is going on. They are sixteen years old, and they have fitted the world situation up to this time. THEY FIT IT NOW."

* Whenever hypocrites come to you, they say: "We admit that you are God's messenger." God already knows that you are His messenger, while God testifies that the hypocrites are liars. * They use their faith as a disguise and obstruct God's way; they are evil because of what they have been doing. * That is because they have believed, then disbelieved; so their hearts are sealed off and they do not comprehend a thing.

* Whenever you see them, their physical appearance may attract you, while if they speak, you will listen to what they say as if they were just sticks of kindling all stacked up. They reckon every shout is [directed] against them. They are the [real] enemy, so beware of them! May God assail them! How they shrug things off!

** Whenever they are told: "Come, God's messenger will seek forgiveness for you," they twist their heads around and you will see them trying to slip away, while they act so haughty. * It is the same for them whether you seek forgiveness for them or do not seek forgiveness for them; God will never forgive them! God does not guide such immoral folk.

* They are the ones who say: "Do not spend anything on anyone who is with God's messenger until they desert [him]." God holds the treasures of Heaven and Earth, yet hypocrites do not comprehend this. * They say: "If we should ever return to the City, the grandees there would expel the lower [classes]." Yet influence belongs to God, His messenger and believers, even though hypocrites do not realize it.

* You who believe, let neither your wealth nor your children distract you from remembering God. Those who do so will be the losers. ** Spend something from whatever We have provided you with before death comes to one of you and he says: "My Lord, if You would only delay things for me for a short while, then I will act charitably and become honorable!"

* God will never postpone things for any soul once its deadline has arrived. God is Informed about anything you do!

Prophecy is the history of possible futures, passing like movie previews through the minds of seers who may feel either blessed or cursed by their visions. Westerners have been saturated for two millenia with Judaeo-Christian visions of apocalypse, to the exclusion of any consideration for other opinions such as those of the Moslems.

When there are no answers, the questions linger..

Well, for starters, lets just say I'm quite new at this....

The Qur'an and the hadeeth have however informed us about various signs which will occur prior to Qiyamah and which will be indicative of the closeness of the event. It is indeed very unfortunate to note that despite having before us the various warnings and signs regarding Qiyamah which have been mentioned by none other than Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam), and handed down to us via the authentic channel of the noble companions, yet certain people professing to be Muslims attach no importance whatsoever to these teachings.
